Eve

This is another one of my favorites. i was depressed one night and was kinda getting mad at Adam and Eve for letting sin enter this world, and then i got to thinking about what it would be like to have been Eve. To have walked with God so personally, and then cast out into an unforgiving world to have one of your sons murder the other, and know it was your fault. that's rough man. So, this is my poem.

Eve’s Song

Angela Mason

Darkness inhabits
Every shadow
Every corner
Every hole
Of the home she made
Out of her broken soul

EAT THE FRUIT

Shards of gold
Lay scattered
Remains of herself
In a bucket
By the tree

EAT THE FRUIT

The golden tree
The tree of knowledge
That ruined her

EAT THE FRUIT

Eat the fruit my child
It is delicious
And cold
Feel it’s smooth texture

EAT THE FRUIT

Tree of knowledge means
Tree of death
Punishment
Pangs of childbirth

EAT THE FRUIT

A son lying slain
One son standing above
Another

EAT THE FRUIT
EAT THE FRUIT
EAT THE FRUIT
